Enrichment Scholarships

The Enrichment Scholarship Program is designed to help support educational and enrichment opportunities for students in the district that may otherwise be out of reach. Examples include funding for arts/music camps, leadership seminars, college visits, and summer courses, among others.

Formerly the Brandt Program because it was initially funded through a generous donation from the Brandt Family. Mr Brandt wanted to support students by allowing them access to experiences they might not otherwise have. These grants enabled students to have these experiences while at MG, which would help them develop a post-graduation plan. Mr. Brandt fell on some hard times after his father's passing, and the teachers of MG helped him get back on track, which led to college and eventually law school.  Because of Mr. Brandt’s experiences, his goal was to help the current students of MG discover opportunities and possibilities to turn their dreams into reality. Past Brandt Scholarship funding has included:

  • The Black Student Union trip to New Orleans to visit HBCU

  • Assisting a student with travel expenses to an East Coast University for a college visit

  • Transportation to the “Careers in Construction Expo” - A student mentorship program at GDS

  • provided funding for college applications and testing fees
