Confidentiality

The Monona Grove Education Foundation (MGEF), board members shall not engage in private discussion of, or otherwise disclose to third parties, information regarding Foundation matters, except when engaged in the conduct of the proper business of the Foundation. Care must be taken to preserve confidentiality of discussions that take place and information that is shared in the course of conducting MGEF business. Furthermore, the following shall apply:

  • All of the materials provided to a Board member or Committee member as part of the grant-making process and all discussion that takes place as part of the grant-making process, whether an internal individual conversation or a discussion at a committee meeting, is confidential.

  • An individual with questions about what is or is not appropriate to discuss outside of the Foundation, or who wishes to seek permission to make a public disclosure of information that is otherwise confidential, should contact the MGEF President.

  • All Board members and Committee members, or volunteers should refrain from disclosure of confidential information. Failure to keep items discussed confidential can result in removal.

Website Privacy Policy

The Monona Grove Education Foundation (MGEF) website has the capability of collecting various bits of information from you, such as contact information, when submitted on a contact us form. In addition, the Monona Grove Education Foundation reserves the right to use "cookie" technology, including Google Analytics. The cookies we use do not reveal any personally identifiable information about you. Cookies help us understand which parts of our website are the most popular. We use cookies to study traffic patterns on our site so we can make adjustments and improvements. The MGEF will not disaggregate the data provided by cookies and will not identify users or facilitate the merging of personally identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information.

To provide website visitors the ability to prevent their data from being used by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, found here.

In addition to the automatically collected information described above, we may ask you to voluntarily provide information, so that we may contact you at your request.

At all times, you have access to the personal information you voluntarily submitted. All requests for such information are contingent on the willingness and ability to provide automatically collected information to us. We also may require all requests to be made in writing and only after we receive proof of your identification.

Donor Privacy Policy

The Monona Grove Education Foundation (MGEF) recognizes that its efficient operation requires the maintenance and management of extensive information that is considered privileged. This may include sensitive information that has been shared with or developed by the MGEF board on a confidential basis (these “Records” are construed to mean all files, including electronic data, containing information on donors or prospective donors to MGEF). Donors and prospects may be attracted to MGEF because of its ability to assure temporary or permanent anonymity. Protecting donor confidentiality is an essential part of providing good service to donors.

  • Confidentiality of Records: The Foundation staff shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of donor and prospect records, as well as fund information. MGEF's auditors, legal counsel and other contractors may review donor/prospect and fund records as required for the purposes for which they are engaged. All persons accessing donor/prospect or fund records in the conduct of MGEF business shall maintain the confidentiality of said records.

  • Publication of Donor Names: Unless otherwise requested by the donor, the names of all individual donors may be printed in MGEF’s reports and/or in other publications. MGEF may categorize and tier these donor lists based on summary gift amounts but will not publish specific individual gift detail without the permission of the donor. Unless otherwise specified in writing, donors making gifts to MGEF by bequest or other testamentary device are deemed to have granted such permission.

  • Memorial/Tribute Gifts: The names of donors (but not gift amounts) of memorial or tribute gifts may be released to the honoree, next of kin, or appropriate member of the immediate family, unless otherwise specified by the donor.

  • Anonymous Gifts: Foundation members are authorized to accept anonymous gifts to MGEF, and to handle them appropriately. The name of the donor and amount of the gift may be withheld at the President’s discretion if so requested by the donor. When made known to Board members, they will respect the anonymity of any such gift.

  • No Disclosures to Third Parties: MGEF shall not release to third parties or allow third parties to copy, inspect or otherwise use MGEF records or other information pertaining to the identification of a donor or donor’s gifts. No disclosures to third parties of such information, including addresses and demographic information, shall be made without the donor’s consent.

  • Public Disclosure: MGEF will comply with both the letter and spirit of all public disclosure requirements.

The Monona Grove Education Foundation is committed to providing information on our website that is available to as many people as possible. We strive to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitations Act of 1973, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. We will make every effort to ensure that our communications are accessible to those with special needs, including individuals with visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor impairments.

While the Monona Grove Education Foundation attempts to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.
